Show your support for transplant beneficiaries and transplant athletes at this year’s Australian Transplant Games. 2018 will see this historical sporting event return to the Gold Coast for the second time, where a fantastic selection of sports and games will be held for one whole week.
The Australian Transplant Games takes place in a different location in Australia every two years, and invites all transplant beneficiaries and transplant athletes to take part in a number of sports and games to celebrate their second chance at life. It also raises awareness for organ donation, which is an important cause all over the world. The first Australian Transplant Games took place in Melbourne in 1988, and featured just a few events and only 150 competitors. It’s now grown to become one of the most important sporting events in Australia, and has taken place in major locations such as Newcastle, Sydney, Adelaide, and the Gold Coast.
The 2018 Australian Transplant Games will enjoy the picturesque backdrop of the Gold Coast for the second time, and will take place over seven days with a huge variety of sports and games for transplant beneficiaries, transplant athletes, and transplant supporters to participate in. The events will include athletics, backgammon, badminton, chess, croquet, cycling, darts, golf, lawn bowls, petanque, running, scrabble, soccer, sudoku, swimming, table tennis, ten pin bowling, tennis, triathlon, volleyball, and more. The events will take place all across the Gold Coast, and provide the perfect reason to come along and cheer on the participants.
Make sure to be on the Gold Coast from September 30 to October 6 for the 2018 Australian Transplant Games!
